Bowers Museum - Santa Ana, CA
On Sunday, my wife and I went to the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, CA. The first Sunday of the month is their free day. These photos are from the exhibits: Masters of Adornment: The Miao People of China, Quilts: Two Centuries of American Tradition and Technique, Pre-Columbian Art, Gemstone Carvings: The Masterworks of Harold Van Pelt, Spirits and Headhunters: Art of the Pacific Islands, and Ancient Arts of China: A 5000 Year Legacy. I also took some pictures of my wife's self-given manicure and pedicure of green and purple nails.

Spring Square Dance at HM157
Went to the Spring Square Dance at HM154 last night. HM154 is California historical monument 154, an old Queen Anne Victorian house in Lincoln Heights that may have a history of 19th century murder. You can check out their website here.
They murder story goes something like this: The house may have once been owned by a man named Horace B. Dibble and the house is known as the Dibble House. Back in 1896, Dibble worked as a salesman in downtown L.A., where he got into a fight with a coworker and he ends up stabbing the guy to death. It was later decided that Dibble acted in self-defense. That's the story anyway. You can read about in more detail and see some more pictures of HM154 at the amazing L.A. historical monument blog Big Orange Landmarks.
